Part of Collin County, Princeton TX is a small city with a population of fewer than 10,000 people. This area of The Metroplex was originally referred to as Wilson’s Switch, a name given to it in honor of the founding farmers, two brothers that inhabited the land in the 1870s. When Wilson’s Switch became a city in 1888, it was renamed Princeton, Texas.
The city is known for its annual Princeton Onion Festival. Originating in 2005, the event is held in April every year on the 4th Saturday. One of the top attractions in the city is Old Rooster Creek Flea Markets & RV Parks. It is located at 10460 County Road 1099.
